Welcome to the YOUTH FASHION SUMMIT
Welcome to The YOUTH FASHION SUMMIT, a part of COPENHAGEN FASHION SUMMIT 2012. The YOUTH FASHION SUMMIT gathers 75-100 of the most talented young Design and Business school students in Europe to give the fashion industry their take on a sustainable fashion future.
Trough webinars, assignments and workshops the students will work together to create a framework for engaging consumers on the sustainable consumption of fashion. Consumers have a significant part to play in the process of transforming the fashion industry towards more sustainable business models. However, at present, they are limited in their influence by several factors.
The mere aim of the YOUTH FASHION SUMMIT, and of the NICE project as a whole are to create increasing awareness on responsible and sustainable business methods in the fashion industry. Demanding more sustainable options making choices about what to buy and whom to buy from improving how they care for garments, and making decisions about post-consumption.
The NICE consumer
The goal is to develop a new sustainability vision for the fashion industry focusing on consumer engagement – seen with the eyes of the next generation. The YOUTH FASHION SUMMIT is a cornerstone in the process of changing the industry.
The results of the YOUTH FASHION SUMMIT will be presented on stage at COPENHAGEN FASHION SUMMIT on May 3rd giving the industry their take on a sustainable fashion future and on how to engage consumers in this development.
